SABRESLASCH W PRADZE
w relacji Leonarda Marynowskiego

Za nami intensywny ostatni weekend września – po raz czwarty uczestniczyliśmy w Sabreslash w Pradze, zorganizowanym przez mistrza @Michael Knazko i naszych przyjaciół z @Ars Dimicatoria.

To było prawdziwie międzynarodowe święto szermierki: na sali spotkali się szermierze z USA, Wielkiej Brytanii, Malty, Grecji, Włoch, Czech i Polski.

Organizatorzy podkreślali, że w tym roku Sabreslash gościł pięciu wyjątkowych instruktorów z Europy i Ameryki Północnej:

1/ Maître d'armes Jean-François Gilles (La Salle d'Armes Paris, Club d'Escrime de la Tour d'Auvergne, Francja) – warsztat „Introduction to the French Contre-Pointe",
2/ Master of Arms Andrei Xuereb (Malta Historical Fencing Association, Malta) – warsztat „The use of the 'pie fermo' during our fight",
3/ Master of Arms Leonard Marynowski (Signum Polonicum Wrocław, Polska) – warsztat „Fighting in the 17th century Polish Winged Hussars Armour",
4/ Master of Arms Franco Burberi (FISAS, Włochy) – warsztat „Sforzo di Cambiamento (changing of the line of engagement)",
5/ Prévôt d'Armes Jim Emmons (Barbasetti Military Sabre, od 1895) – warsztat „Barbasetti's Strategies for Offense".

Nowością tegorocznej edycji był RandomSlash Tournament – zupełnie nowy format szermierczy, oparty na ciągłych, nieustrukturyzowanych starciach z losowo dobieranymi przeciwnikami. Bez eliminacji, bez wyłaniania zwycięzców – tu liczyła się przyjemność samej szermierki, przepływ i doświadczenie.

To był weekend pełen pasji, nauki i radości – nie możemy się doczekać kolejnej edycji!

SABRESLASCH W PRADZE

The last weekend of September was truly intense – for the fourth time we joined Sabreslash in Prague, hosted by @Michael Knazko and our friends from @Ars Dimicatoria.
It was a truly international celebration of fencing, bringing together participants from the USA, the UK, Malta, Greece, Italy, the Czech Republic, and Poland.

The organizers proudly highlighted that this year's Sabreslash welcomed five distinguished guest instructors from across Europe and North America:

A highlight of this year's edition was the brand-new RandomSlash Tournament – a sabre fencing format based on continuous, unstructured bouts with randomly selected opponents. With no eliminations and no fixed winners or losers, it placed the spotlight on the flow and sheer enjoyment of fencing itself.

It was a weekend packed with passion, learning, and pure joy of fencing – and we can't wait for the next edition!
